This unit’s Learning Journal focuses on creating an Abstract for your own paper. Remember, keep your Abstract to under 250 words and keep it in APA format along with keywords listed at the end. This will be one of the final steps in creating your research paper. It is also the first thing a reader will see, so make the Abstract as strong as you can.
The thesis:
While pets can transfer parasites and cause allergies, it is still good to adopt them because they can help to survive psychological traumas and leverage stress. People become happier even when they see animals on the screen. Pets can make us jollier and more confident, as well as less nervous, and those who own pets experience fewer negative emotions in total.
The abstract:
Owning a pet can be a very beneficial affinity. Animals can positively affect our lives and make us healthier mentally and physically, which makes pet therapy popular among people of all ages. This study aims to investigate how exactly this works and examine the scientific explanation and relationship between human health and animals in our lives. A review of the related literature identified four dimensions where pets play important roles namely: well-being, stress, relationships, and health. This research is important because it will expand our knowledge about how animals affect our lives and give us a detailed analysis. To understand the phenomenon within the real-situation context, this study used qualitative research. It employed survey techniques through questionnaires to people with and without pets and covered different aspects of their lives. The findings supported the relationship between human well-being and pets, especially cats. In addition, the results of this study indicated the importance of adopting a pet for children and their vital role in the development of the personality.
